In between studying for finals and shopping for Christmas presents, I've been running around gathering materials for my visa application (kind of important...) and trying to figure out what I need to buy for the trip. I'm going to try very hard to keep myself to one suitcase, plus a small duffel that will have stuff I'll use up while I'm there, but I'm not sure if it'll work out. I'm a notorious over-packer so this'll be quite a challenge for me. That 50 lb weight limit is killing me! And only one carry-on because I'm transferring through London. I have a feeling I'll pack and unpack my suitcase(s) several times before I leave.
I'm starting to get really excited about being abroad. We've gotten the calendar for the program, and I've started to make tentative travel plans. One friend and I want to experience Greek Easter and then go to the islands for a few days. Two other friends are planning a trip to Turkey right when my program ends, so I may be meeting up with them to see a country I almost chose to study abroad in. I'm also hoping to see a friend who's at Oxford for the year at some point while we're there -- maybe a meeting in Paris or Spain.
As excited as I am, the whole thing still seems a bit surreal and I'm not sure when it will start to hit me that I'll actually be gone for 4 months, and that when I come back, I'll be a senior. The last 2.5 years have really flown by!
